Great Lowcarb Blogs!

So I wanted to get all my fave lowcarb blogs into an RSS reader that would automatically show me which things had updated. It's getting to be a bit of a long process, going to every one on my list, when half or more of them haven't changed.

Then I realized there is that feature in blogger itself, to add a feed. I thought, what if I created a blog, that was primarily set up just to show RSS feeds of all my fave blogs? Not only would that be convenient for me (although I use Google as an RSS reader), but then other people with interest could quickly browse "what's new" on my LC blog list. So here it is!

Good idea! I read nearly all of these, so having them in one handy place really helps. And I also get to discover some new blogs. Thanks a lot for setting this up.

I've been keeping favorite blogs in a Bloglines account (or whatever it's called,) myself. I was so glad when you started posting in yours again because I have really enjoyed reading it and I seem to have some interests in common with you besides low carb.

Well it's sort of embarrassing. This was a work in progress. I've planned to radically change the design, the heading, and I still had more blogs I planned to add -- Kate both you and Suzique's sites that he mentioned are on my blog list for The Divine Low Carb, I just didn't have feeds for yours there yet, I was still working on it, and I was going to announce it when it was ready. Jimmy apparently found it by viewing my profile, and wrote about it, heh! It wasn't ready -- but I guess when it's time, it's time! :-) I've added both those blogs to that list now.

I'm so glad you've done this... Too bad I haven't been writing lately (at least nothing about low carb. :-/), since you've seen fit to include mine

But maybe someday soon I'll be able to get back to it again.

I'm certainly glad to see such a great list of blog updates though, and glad you have the technical know-how do do this.

Great idea, PJ--it'll be wonderful to have all the updates in one spot. Thanks for including me!

I'm still having trouble getting the feeds to refresh properly. The shift-reload doesn't work in my browser (internet explorer 7.0).

Any idea if it's something on my end (a browser setting?) or if it's a problem with blogger?

As you know, I set up a similar page. I've noticed that it only seems to refresh when I make republish the blog (via a change or new post).

Usually shift-reload works for me in Firefox, but it may be more a blogger issue than a browser issue. I had trouble for example, 2 posts that didn't exist anymore at tomboy tough wouldn't go away (blogger thought they were real), and two posts that I reversed the times on (the last before the 2nd-last) show in the order posted not the order dated, and sometimes all the shift-reloading in the world won't help and then the next day, two days of posts magically appear on one of the blogs. But other times shift-reload 'seems' to work, and visiting the blogs doesn't show something newer. I think it's some kind of cache in blogger itself.

I think I could program a page in coldfusion to grab RSS feeds, but that would be more trouble than I want to go to at the moment!

Refreshing Feeds... With Internet explorer, it's CTRL-Refresh rather than SHIFT-Refresh that works... not sure about other browsers.

I'm having the refresh problem, too, but I just tried Ctrl + refresh and it worked. Thanks for the feed page!Bren

I respectfully suggest that you remove the Livin La Vida Lowcarb blog from your list of Great Lowcarb Blogs. Thank you.

I put you at the top of my blog page a few weeks ago - I love this page!

I stumbled into this blog after following links from your previous posts on ALC and wanted to express my appreciation. I have found your synopsis on various aspects of the kimkins/Kimmer saga so well thought out, concise and your pinch of wit makes a wonderful marinate to it all.
This blog is a great idea you have shared, and my "bookmarks" thank you from the bottom of their tabs!
I will add this blog to the list of your contributions in making my researching of Lowcarb more efficient. I think you are my new organizational hero!
Can I talk you into coming to organize the rest of my life?
Regards,
HoneyBee/BabyBug
